Free QR Code Generator
Create high-resolution, standards-compliant QR codes for links, Wi-Fi credentials, and plain text with client-side rendering and vector SVG export.
Technical Architecture: Reverse-Engineering QR Code Generation
Quick Response (QR) codes (ISO/IEC 18004) represent binary and alphanumeric data across a two-dimensional grid of dark and light square modules. The matrix includes positional finder patterns, timing benchmarks, alignment patterns, and Reed-Solomon error-correction codewords.
1. In-Browser Vector & Raster Rendering
The client application dynamically imports the QR compilation engine to synthesize both scalable vector graphics (SVG) and raster (Canvas / PNG) outputs directly inside browser memory:
import QRCode from 'qrcode';
async function renderQrCode(data: string, eccLevel: 'L' | 'M' | 'Q' | 'H', colors: { fg: string; bg: string }) {
// Generate vector SVG string for lossless print rendering
const svgString = await QRCode.toString(data, {
type: 'svg',
errorCorrectionLevel: eccLevel,
color: { dark: colors.fg, light: colors.bg },
margin: 4,
});
// Generate raster data URL for high-resolution PNG downloads
const pngDataUrl = await QRCode.toDataURL(data, {
errorCorrectionLevel: eccLevel,
color: { dark: colors.fg, light: colors.bg },
margin: 4,
width: 1024, // High-DPI scaling
});
return { svgString, pngDataUrl };
}
2. Reed-Solomon Error Correction over Galois Field GF(2^8)
QR codes employ Reed-Solomon polynomial error correction calculated over Galois Field $GF(2^8)$ with the primitive polynomial:
p(x) = x^8 + x^4 + x^3 + x^2 + 1
This mathematical redundancy enables QR scanners to reconstruct corrupted, distorted, or partially covered modules up to a defined threshold:
- Level L (Low): Recovers up to ~7% corrupted codewords (maximum data density).
- Level M (Medium): Recovers up to ~15% corrupted codewords (standard retail balance).
- Level Q (Quartile): Recovers up to ~25% corrupted codewords (high durability for outdoor prints).
- Level H (High): Recovers up to ~30% corrupted codewords (allows custom center logo overlays).
3. Programmatic API Endpoint & Telegram Bot Integration
For backend pipelines, microservices, and chat integrations, QR codes can be generated programmatically via the public microservice endpoint or Telegram bot:
# Generate a QR code PNG image via cURL
curl -o qrcode.png "https://serhii-bots-empire.vercel.app/qrcode/generate?data=https://hrekov.com"
Query Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
data | string | Yes | The URL, text payload, or Wi-Fi string to encode. |
Telegram Bot Automation
You can also generate QR codes conversationally via Telegram using the automated bot:
- Bot Username:
@responseWithQrBot - Protocol: Asynchronous Python / MTProto event loop generating instantaneous PNG barcode responses to text messages.
Reed-Solomon Error Correction Comparison
| Level | Error Recovery Threshold | Data Capacity (Alphanumeric) | Recommended Print Medium |
|---|---|---|---|
| L (Low) | ~7% of codewords | Up to 4,296 characters | Clean digital screens, mobile apps |
| M (Medium) | ~15% of codewords | Up to 3,391 characters | Standard print collateral, business cards |
| Q (Quartile) | ~25% of codewords | Up to 2,420 characters | Billboards, industrial packaging, factory floors |
| H (High) | ~30% of codewords | Up to 1,852 characters | Distressed surfaces, badges with center logos |
Client-Side Security & Zero-Server Data Isolation
- Zero Plaintext Transmission: The web interface generates all QR codes locally in your browser. Sensitive payloads (such as internal URLs, personal phone numbers, or Wi-Fi passwords) are never uploaded or logged on any remote server.
- Vector Precision: SVG outputs use pure mathematical paths, ensuring infinitely scalable printing at 300+ DPI without pixelation or raster blur.
- Local Memory Reclamation: Ephemeral preview blobs and canvas buffers are deallocated after rendering to maintain clean memory performance.
